Participant(I’ll preface this by saying I am in no way, shape, or form a programming or network expert.)
My game had crashed while my friend was loading into the Home island. Myself and the other friend were on the same island. I’m guessing that, when my game crashed and disconnected us, whatever chunks had already loaded on the Vacant Black Forest Island were the ones that were saved, and the ones that hadn’t loaded just ceased to exist… if that makes sense.

ParticipantAddendum;
I was able to remove the old island file. Loading back in afterwards reset the island to default. Obviously, all of my resources are still gone, but I grateful that I don’t need to reset my entire universe and re-open all of the portals.

ParticipantThanks so much for the information! I sifted through the Steam folders a bit but didn’t find anything. I guess I’m just not as perceptive, hehe.
Thanks again for the reply. 🙂

ParticipantThe art style and fine polish on this game is what drew me to it. However, I’m a little put off by the “confined space,” for lack of a better phrase, that each island presents me. Yes, we have larger islands and I can make a new world as many times as I please, but I want an endless expanse of terrain to stake my claim to, similar to the way Minecraft or Trove does this.
I know that the idea behind Portal Knights contradicts this, but is it something that will be a possibility in the future? It’s something I’ve wanted since I first heard of Portal Knights, and would be over the moon excited to see implemented.

ParticipantI’m interested to see a “Minecraft like” open world mode. Start in a location on a very large, procedurally generated map, and just work to progress and create. Is this something that we could possibly see, or are there engine limitations?
